She was born April 11, 1929, on a farm southeast of Baileyville, the daughter of Albert and Hilda Osterhaus. Dorothy attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Baileyville High School in 1947. She was employed by Leo Schmidt Cabins in Baileyville.
