Donald E. Smith, age 73, of Falls City, NE, died Saturday, July 26. He was born January 13, 1941, at Chadron, NE, to Rueben and Dorothy Smith. Don married Rita Anne Staroscik on October 21, 1961.

Survivors include Don's wife, Rita Smith of Falls City; daughters Teresa (Raymond) Hausch of Portland, OR, Cynthia (Mark) Danielson of Wilsall, MT, and Donna (Timothy) Banish of Cincinnati, OH; sons Jonathan Smith and Timothy Smith, both of Lincoln, NE; brother Gary Smith of Fayetteville, AR; sister Linda (Ronald) Hospodka of Omaha, NE; 7 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Falls City. Interment will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Duncan, NE.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the Dorr and Clark Funeral Home in Falls City, and the family will receive friends following the rosary.
