LuAnn Jasper, 60, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away on October 23rd, 2014 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. 

She was born in Highland KS on March 4th, 1954 to Rose and James “Chick” Lucas.  LuAnn was preceded in death by her husband John “Mike” Jasper, her mother and father, her brother William D. Lucas, and nephew Patrick Lucas.

LuAnn originally married Billy R. Kelley and they raised their 3 children together; Denise Kelley, Brett Kelley (Kim), and Kristi Blevins (Rick).  LuAnn later married John “Mike” Jasper and gained 4 additional children; Michael Jasper, Kelly Jasper, Michelle Blackburn (Kelvin), and Chris Hanway.

LuAnn lived most of her life in Highland and Troy KS, but was residing in St. Joseph MO at the time of her passing.

LuAnn was a very giving person and brought joy and laughter to all she met. 

LuAnn is survived by; her children, brothers Jimmy Lucas, Artie Lucas (Nancy), sisters Nancy Riggins (Rick), Pam Taylor (Doug), 8 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday October 26th from 4-6PM.  Her Celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 27th at 10:30AM.  Both services will be held at the Community of Life Church in Fanning KS.  Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, where she will be reunited with her parents. 

Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland from 10 until 2 Sunday and after at the Church.

LuAnn had a love for sheltered animals, so in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the St. Joseph Animal Shelter in her name, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, {P Box 33, Highland 66035.
