Berniece Dooley, 88, Atchison, Kansas, died Monday, January 26, 2015, at Atchison Senior Village.  

Services to be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015, 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Gabriel Landis, OSB as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  A parish rosary will be recited on Friday, January 30 at 6:30 P.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:30 P.M.  Memorial contributions in Berniece's name may be made to St. Benedict Catholic School, Maur Hill Mount Academy, and Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas or to the charity of your choice and may be left in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.arensbergpruett.com.  

Berniece was the daughter of William Brobst Kistler and Katherine (Wolters) Kistler.  Berniece received her education at Good Intent Elementary School, and was a graduate of Mount Saint Scholastica Academy Class of 1944 and Mount Saint Scholastica College Class of 1948. 

She was united in marriage to Eugene Joseph Dooley on May 6, 1953 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Good Intent.  Berniece taught school at Potter High School, St. Benedict’s and Sacred Heart Elementary School and Winchester Elementary School.  While at Winchester Elementary, she was selected as Teacher of the Year by her peers. 

Berniece enjoyed traveling, buying, selling and every avenue of cattle production, gardening and attending to her flowers, visiting with family and friends, playing pitch and the occasional trip to the casino.

Berniece is survived by Larry (Debbie) Dooley, and Janet Dooley of Atchison and Diane Dooley, DeSoto, Texas and grandson Ryan Dooley, College Station, Texas, great grandson Mason Johnston and many nieces and nephews.

Berniece was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, parents and siblings, William Kistler, Mary Dorothy Bond, Katherine Casey, Jeanette Kistler, Raymond Kistler, Herb Kistler, Robert Kistler and Edward Kistler.
