Betty Jean Bomar
Mound City , MO

Betty Jean (Sipes) Bomar was born on July 3, 1935 in Forbes, Missouri to Lester M. and Ella (Hughes) Sipes. She attended Forest City High School.
  On January 31, 1953 she married Frederick Ray Bomar in Bigelow, Missouri. They became parents of six children.
  Betty worked for many years at Schoonover’s Café. She also worked at Bammer’s Café and at the Squaw Creek Motel.
  Betty passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at a St. Joseph hospital at the age of 76.
  Preceding her in death were her sons, Todd Allan Bomar and Johnny Ray Bomar; brother, Lester Sipes, Jr.; sister, Alpha “Toots” Cunningham; and grandson, David Bomar.
  Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin L. and Annie Bomar of Craig, Missouri; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly Jean and Keith Dreher of Mound City, Missouri, Debbie Bomar of Mound City, and Theresa Morris and her partner Paul Kurtz of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Betty Bomar of Mound City; brother, Bob Sipes of Big Lake, Missouri; 17 grandchildren, Dalton Dreher, Bryan Diggs and his wife Shannon, Michelle Brandon and her husband Josh, Jeramy Diggs and his wife Tanya, Trista Dreher, Derick Bomar, Daylon Bomar, Dustin Bomar, Dakota Bomar, Adacia Bomar,  Shawna Bomar, Josie Bomar, Shelby Bomar, Hailey Bomar, Jacob Kurtz, Jessica Kurtz, and Kayley Morris; and 15 great grandchildren, Austin, Ariel, Jordan, Destiny and Trinity Diggs, Cassidy and Tanner Wennihan, Dillon Waggoner, Caden, Damion, Kaitlin, Kallie, and Jaden Bomar, Selena Smith, and Justin Durfee.
  Betty enjoyed playing bingo, and watching “Wheel of Fortune.” She also enjoyed reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
  Services will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mound City. Memorials may be directed to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
