Loren Dale Mitchell, 67, of Holton, KS passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at his home with family by his side; after a 17 year battle with cancer. He was born August 6, 1947 in Centralia, the son of Glen and Esther (Taylor) Mitchell.

Loren graduated from Circleville High School in 1965. He worked for Goodyear Rubber and Tire Company for 35 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton , Circleville Masonic Lodge, Holton Country Club and United Steel Workers Local #307.

Loren leaves and will be dearly missed by his wife of 49 years, Beth (Jackman) Mitchell. He is also survived by his daughter, Loralie Koca (Randy) of Shawnee, KS; his son, Eric Mitchell (Karen) of Platte City, MO; 5 grandchildren, Madison, Mitchell and Morgan Koca and Jordan and Justin Mitchell; 2 brothers, Lloyd Mitchell of Meriden and David Mitchell (Linda) of Circleville; 2 sisters-in-law, Sandy Gilbert of Holton and Sue Jackman of Sabetha; and brothers-in-law, Russell Stauffer of Sabetha and Gary Jackman of Topeka.

He is preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Amy; son-in-law, Dylan and 2 granddaughters, Chase and Ansley, killed in an airplane accident on Good Friday in 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Esther Mitchell; a brother, Norman Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Jackie Mitchell and Louise Stauffer; brother-in-law, Raymond Jackman and his in-laws, Clarence and Minnie Jackman.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Circleville Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
