Mary E. Fisher Wichman

Mary E. Fisher Wichman, 84, Seneca, died on April 14, 2015 at Life Care Center in Seneca.

Mary was born on August 4, 1930 on a farm outside of Burchard, Nebraska the daughter of Lawrence and Anna Ullman Fisher. She attended Cold Point Country School near Pawnee City, Nebraska and graduated from the 8th grade. After school she went to work for neighbors that were having babies and helped them; she was later offered a job in Kansas helping take care of Mr. and Mrs Louis Wichman.

She married Glen Wichman on February 27, 1957 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Steiner, Nebraska.

Mary loved cooking, gardening, cards and raising her chickens. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Altar Society, and QAF ”Quit After Five” all in Seneca.

She is survived by two daughters, Denise “Mark” Strathman of Goff and Dolores “Bill” Roggenkamp of Sabetha; her siblings, Wilma Cumro of Summerfield, Doris Fiegener of Dawson, Nebraska and Marion Fisher of Topeka; five grandchildren; and  three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenny, Virgil and Robert Fisher; and a sister, Geraldine Kohel. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 17th at Sts. Peter and Paul’s Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rosaries will be prayed at 2 and 7 PM on Thursday at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorials may be left to Sts. Peter and Paul School.
