Marlene Gilkerson, 67, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 16, 2015 at Falls City. She was born March 3, 1948 at Falls City to the late E. A. and Grace (Gehling) Broadstone.

On October 11, 1965 she married Ralph Gilkerson at Falls City.

Marlene was raised at Falls City and attended Sacred Heart High School. Following her schooling she was married and the couple established their home in Falls City. She worked at Frontier Homes then at Falls City Meat Company and then became employed by the Falls City Police Department as a dispatcher for thirteen years. She then managed the restaurant at the Oasis and became a Certified Nursing Assistant and she traveled and worked in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. She retired in 2000 and was then a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rulo, NE.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Ralph of Falls City, sons, Brian and his wife Amanda of Bay St. Louis, MS, Keith and his wife Kim of Falls City, brother, Gehling Broadstone and his wife Bertha of Kansas City, MO, sisters, Alvia Davis and her husband Dean, Claudette Davis and her husband Bill both of Fremont, grandchildren, Kaleb Gilkerson and his wife Katie of Falls City, Christina, Robert and Emma Gilkerson of Falls City, Stephen Wendtlandt of Dawson, NE, great-grandchildren, Braylon Gilkerson of Falls City, Zachery and Kenzleigh Wendtlandt of Dawson. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Bellson, Kathy Hoy, brother, Merlin Broadston and her children, Gehling and Grace Gilkerson.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father David Oldham as the presiding priest. Inurnment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.

A Parish Rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 PM with the family receiving friends following the rosary.
