Harold (Bud) Warren Earp, 89, of Everest, Kansas, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital. He was born on December 3, 1925 in rural Everest, Kansas the son of William and Ida McLaughlin Earp. He graduated from Everest High School in 1943. After graduation he entered the U.S. Navy, served from 1943-1945 on the USS Solace. After getting out of the Navy he started farming in the rural Everest area. He married the love of his life, Jean(Bunck)on October 25, 1947. He farmed his entire adult life and retired in 1990 when they moved to Everest. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening after his retirement. Harold was a member of the St. Leo's Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 288 in Everest, holding several offices. He also was on the All Saints Cemetery Board and was a member of the Everest Historical Society. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Bunck) Earp married for 67 years. Two daughters, Carol Berger of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Linda (John) Spangler of Everest, Kansas. Grandchildren, Tony (Margaret) Lockwood, Chris (Amanda) Berger, Jennifer (Victor) Fuentes, Lisa (Bob) Burns, Scott (Malinda) Spangler. Great grandchildren, Aubrey, Nicholas, Jessica, Paige, Justin, Devin, Xander and Sawyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one grandson. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 9, 2015 at the St. Leo's Catholic Church in Horton, Kansas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday evening at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends following the Rosary.
