Michael J. Hershberger, 40, of Overland Park, KS, (formerly of Tecumseh) passed away Oct. 2, 2015. He was baptized on March 16, 1975 and confirmed in 1987 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh.  Michael attended St. Andrew Catholic School through the eighth grade, graduated from Tecumseh High School with the Class of 1993 and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University.  While attending NWMS Michael was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity and President of Epsilon Nu Chapter.  

Michael loved Husker athletics, both football and track, sports, dogs, Kansas City Royals Baseball, Kansas City Chiefs Football and was a good friend to everyone he knew.  

He is survived by his parents, Larry and Jan (Anderson) Hershberger, sister, Michelle Hershberger and fiancé Mike Stevenson of Kansas City, KS, grandmothers, Marcella Hershberger and LuEtta Anderson both of Lincoln, aunts and uncles, Charlotte and Larry Nedrow of Waverly and children, Stephanie and Heather, Curt and Jeanne Stade of Minden and children, Melissa and Andrew, Geri Anderson of Boulder, CO and children, Conrad and Spencer and Bill and Jolene Near of Tampa Bay, FL and children, Christa, Missy and Charlie, numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Hershberger and Ray Anderson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Father Craig Clinch officiating.  Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with rosary recited at the St. Andrew Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m.  Memorials may go to the family’s choice.   Interment will be in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.  Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
