Melinda  K. Misner, 44, of Topeka, KS died Sunday, Feb. 7th, 2016 at her home in Topeka unexpectedly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Mooney Creek with Fr. Lazar Carasala as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Corpus Christi Cemetery.  A prayer service will be held Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30 pm at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:30 pm.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Corpus Christi Cemetery and may be sent in care of the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Melinda K. Gering was born on Jan. 23, 1972 in Atchison KS the daughter of John & Connie (Welch) Gering.  She graduated from ACCHS in 1990. She graduated from Cosmetology School and was a hairdresser out of her home in Olathe and later in Topeka.  Melinda was Catholic and formerly attended Corpus Christi Church, Mooney Creek. She enjoyed being a farm girl, gardening, knitting and attending her children’s school activities.

She was married to Carl Wes Misner and later divorced.  Survivors include her parents, John & Connie Gering, Cummings, KS, daughter, Kaitlyn Misner, of the home, sisters; Christina Guardado, Lansing, KS., and Laurie (Tom) Prout, Liberty, MO, brother; Kevin (Bridget) Gering, Atchison KS, Step-brother; Curt (Tami) Gabbert, Olathe, KS, and Aunt & Uncle, Robert (Carol) Gering, Winchester, KS.  Melinda was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Logan Misner, Nov. 2007.
