Lisa C. Eylar, 48, Atchison, Kansas passed from this life peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.

Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict’s Abbey Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. A parish rosary will be recited on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. at St. Joseph’s Church with visitation with the family to follow until 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to Maur Hill-Mount Academy School and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom the final arrangements have been entrusted. Lisa was born August 25, 1968 in Falls City, Nebraska the daughter of Edward J. and Glenda L. Lunsford Huber. She moved with her family to Atchison, Kansas where she attended Catholic elementary school and Atchison Public Elementary School. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1986.

She and Timothy W. “Tim” Eylar were united in marriage on October 22, 1988 at St. Joseph’s Church in Atchison.

Lisa began working during her junior year in high school as a sales representative for Runyan Jewelers in Atchison, continuing until 1999. She then became employed with Atchison Catholic Elementary School in 2000, later renamed St. Benedict’s School until 2015 as the school secretary and the “go to” person at the school. She then transferred to Maur Hill-Mount Academy School as office manager continuing until her untimely death due to complications of Lupus.

She was a member of St. Benedict Parish in Atchison. Lisa enjoyed baking and being in her kitchen at home where she was fondly known by her family, to be able to whip up a batch of cookies at a moments notice. Her passion was when her family were together, spending time on a vacation or birthday parties and extending that time as long as she could. She was the epitome of fun, love, and strength to her nieces and nephews and the numerous children at the school.

Survivors include her husband, Tim Eylar, of the couple’s home in Atchison, a son, Dawson Eylar, Atchison, KS, her father, Ed Huber, Atchison, KS; three brothers, Mark (Rochelle) Huber, Elk Grove, CA; Tom (Monique) Huber, Atchison, KS; Larry Huber, St. Joseph, MO; and a sister, Sue Huber, Atchison, KS.

Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Glenda Lee Huber.
