James H.  Macke, 66, of Seneca, Kansas, died unexpectedly Monday, April 17, 2017, at his home in Seneca.

He was born on August 21, 1950, in Seneca, the only son of Henry and Mary Nordhus Macke. He grew up on the Macke farm and attended B & B school; graduating from High School in 1969. He was a farmer and a stockman, farming with his Father until his own health forced him to retired. Jim moved into Seneca in 2009.

Jim enjoyed traveling and skiing in his younger days. Jim liked his daily walks in Seneca.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville; and a former Knights of Columbus member of the Axtell Council #1163.

He is survived by his Mother, Mary; five sisters, Donna Macke of Leavenworth, Jane Macke of Overland Park, his twin, Joyce Macke of Aurora, CO, Mary Beth (Kenneth) Feldkamp of Centralia and Vicki (Greg) Hulsing of Seneca.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry on November 25, 2003.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Baileyville. A rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Friday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorials may be given for Sacred Heart Cemetery, and sent in care of the family.
