Frances Naomi Harris, 81 years old, of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at her home with loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Independence Baptist Church, 601 Pottawatomie St., Leavenworth, KS 66048 with Rev. Dr. James F. Lambert, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Atchison, Kansas. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Naomi was born on January 12, 1936 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Daniel and Agnes Miller Jackson. She attended Lincoln School and Atchison High School. She later studied in Business Administration.

She and Oscar Harris were united in marriage in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death.

Naomi worked at the Atchison Youth Center in Atchison before moving to Kansas City in 1985. She was a school bus driver in Kansas City, Missouri for thirteen years. She was active in politics and appreciated President Obama.

She enjoyed playing bingo, putting together puzzles and anything associated with education. She was a sports fan and stayed loyal to her local Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Gwendolyne K. Davis, Leavenworth, KS, four sons, Dennis Harris, Texas, David Harris, Aurora, CO, Oscar Harris, Jr., K.C., MO, Scott (Joyce) Harris, K.C., MO, twenty grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Daniel Jackson Jr., Eugene Jackson, Warren Jackson, Carolyn Allen, Dorothy Whitely, Ruth Anna Williams, Wealthy Fobbs, Hortense Wilkerson, Carl R. Jackson and Florence Harper.
