Wathena, Kansas - Barbara “Lynn” Rice, of Wathena, Kansas passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at her home. Lynn was born on December 14, 1944, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to William D. & Gertrude (Hewins) Kiehnhoff. 

She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Women’s Council, the Wathena Garden Club, the Red Hatters, and was active in various Bible studies. Lynn worked for the Farmers State Bank, for over twenty years. Lynn was an avid traveler and developed many friendships over the years. She was always excited to watch Dain and Kaelin play sports. Basketball season was a highlight for Lynn; she enjoyed watching and attending, KU games. Lynn was a great giver of her time, she never met a stranger and she leaves behind many special friends. Lynn married Ronald F. Rice on December 29, 1962 in Wathena, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 27, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents. 

Survivors: Daughters, Laurie Finney (Darrin) of St. Joseph, Missouri; 
Rebecca Hoffman of Fort Worth, Texas; 
Son, Kiley Rice (Reanne) of Topeka, Kansas; 
Grandchildren - Dain Finney, Kaelin Rice, Liam Rice & Charlie Jo Rice. 
Brothers, Tom Kiehnhoff (Denise) of Wathena, Kansas; 
Bill Kiehnhoff (Susan) of Sugar Land, Texas; 
Brother-in-law, Brycen Rice (Margaret) of Easton, Missouri; 
Nieces & nephews – Rochelle Greenwood, Roselyn Apgar, Kevin Kiehnhoff, Kristin McNew and David Kiehnhoff. 

Funeral Mass: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 
At the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wathena, Kansas 
Rosary: 6 P.M. Monday evening at the church, with visitation to follow until 8 P.M. 
Friends may call after 12 noon Monday at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena, Kansas. 
Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wathena, Kansas 
Memorials: Wathena Garden Club, St. Joseph’s Women’s Council, Wathena; or the Wathena Class of 1962 Scholarship Fund.
