Larry Godwin, 83, of Falls City, NE, passed away May 12, 2017 at Falls City. He was born May 10, 1934 at Pleasant Hill, IL to Homer and Rena (Nutt) Godwin.

Larry served in the U. S. Air Force

On March 23, 1958 he married Nelda Dettmer at Arapahoe, NE. She passed away September 30, 2009.

Larry was raised at Hastings and graduated Hastings High School in 1952. He earned a teaching degree from Hastings College and then a Master in Education from Kansas University. The couple moved to Falls City in 1960 and he began teaching for Falls City Public Schools. He was a lifetime member of Falls City Elks Lodge #963 and also Falls City Country Club.

Larry is survived by his sons, Brad and his wife Cynthia of Grandview, MO, Todd and his wife Jyl of Falls City, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

His memorial service will be held on June 17, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Weinert officiating.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service time at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation or the Falls City Library.
