Dorothy G. Mullins, 95, of Atchison, Kansas died in the early morning hours on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Atchison Senior Village.

Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Benedict’s Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited on Monday, June 19th at 10:15 A.M. prior to mass at the church. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:15 Monday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict’s Catholic School, Atchison Humane Society or Northeast Kansas Hospice and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom the final care has been entrusted. Dorothy was born November 19, 1921 in Atchison, Kansas the fifth child of James H. Mullins, Sr., and Mable G. Farrell Mullins. She attended Catholic schools in Atchison, graduating from Mount St. Scholastica Academy in 1940.

For forty four and one half years she worked in Atchison as a clerical worker and secretary. She retired in 1986 after eight years with Benedictine College.

After retirement she was a member of St. Ann’s Church Circle for five years. She was a life-long member of St. Benedict’s Church in Atchison. She was a past member of the Humane Society of Atchison. She enjoyed reading and music as a hobby. After retirement she rescued a stray dog, Annie, and was a dedicated care giver.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and John Mullins, and three sisters, Edith Mary Mullins, Eileen Weber, and Helen Mullins.
