Michael Clifford McAfee, 74, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Mosaic Life Care Center in St. Joseph, Missouri.

He was born on August 4, 1942 in Horton, Kansas the son of Leonard "Mac" and Georgia Cashman McAfee.

Mike graduated from Horton High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a self employed carpenter and journeyman. He also worked as an exterminator for Hinkel Pest Control. Mike was a member of the Horton American Legion.

Survivors include four sons, Michael L. McAfee of Horton, Kansas, Ross McAfee of Atchison, Kansas, Blayne E. McAfee of Topeka, Kansas and Brandon L. Medicine Horse of Horton, Kansas; three brothers, George "Pat" (Cheryl) McAfee, Dene (Colette) McAfee and Mark (Julie) McAfee all of Horton, Kansas; sister, Nancy E. Thomas of Horton, Kansas; ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Carl McAfee and daughter, Staci Harris.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Horton Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial and military graveside rites will be at the Horton Cemetery.
