Betty Norma (Kellenberger) Burow

Betty Norma (Kellenberger) Burow, 89, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on November 3, 1927, in Glen Burnie, Maryland, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Knauff) Kellenberger.  She married K. Wayne Burow on March 15, 1946, in Glen Burnie.  Shortly after their marriage, Betty and Wayne moved to Humboldt, NE, where they lived for over 65 years. Wayne preceded her in passing on September 18, 2011.  Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Humboldt.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Betty enjoyed crafts and sewing, having run "Betty's Boutiques" for approximately 10 years.  She loved the game of bridge and played as often as possible.  Betty was a gourmet cook and was fond of preparing outstanding meals for family and friends.   She also loved animals and always had several cats by her side.

Betty passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of June 17, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of eighty-nine years, seven months, and fourteen days.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne, a son Stephen (May, 1979) and 9 brothers and sisters.  

Betty is survived by her daughter Cindy Burow of Humboldt, NE; son Kenneth Burow Jr. and his wife Patricia of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren:  Margo Neetz and her husband Ron of Monee, IL; Alex Burow and his wife Andrea of Fishers, IN; Jeff Burow of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchildren Katelin Burow, Abbey Neetz, Jenna Burow, Hayden Neetz, Mya Burow and Ray Burow; brothers:  Dale and Paul Kellenberger; and sisters: Jean Kellenberger and Ruth Gill.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 26, 2017, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Tim Llewellyn officiating.

Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt.  Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will be at the Humboldt Cemetery.

Memorials contributions may be given to the Bruun Memorial Library or donor's choice.
