Raymond Carl Madorin, 91, Valley Falls, died Monday, July 10, 2017, at F.W. Huston Senior Living Center at Winchester.


    He was born Dec. 27, 1925, north of Valley Falls, the son of Henry and Esther Florence Wolthausen Madorin. He graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1943. Raymond served in the US Army and was stationed in Oklahoma.


    Raymond was a hard worker and was known as “Mr. Fix-it”. He was a farmer-stockman for most of his life. He was also a mechanic and had worked at Mark’s Repair, Zwygart Chevrolet and Mercier Chevrolet, all in Valley Falls. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls.


    Raymond married Janice Jacqulyn Jolliffe, March 10, 1967, at Oskaloosa.


    He was preceded in death by a grandson, Gabriel Kidd; a step-daughter, Jeanie Painter; and a brother, Clarence “Sonny” Madorin.


    Survivors include his wife, Jackie, of the home; a son, Dan Madorin, Valley Falls; a step-daughter, Julie Kidd, Topeka; two brothers, Vernon Dean Madorin, Topeka, and Donald Lee Madorin, Perry; two sisters, Ruth Ann Boten, Topeka, and Carolyn Pringle, Mercer Island, Washington; two grandchildren, Rebecca McMullen and Jonathan Painter; and seven great-grandchildren.


    A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
