Allen Donigan, 86, of Rulo, NE, passed away July 8, 2017 at Kimberling City, MO. He was born September 26, 1929 at Plainview, NE to William and Jeanette (Holmes) Donigan.

Allen enlisted in the U. S. Army on November 15, 1946 at Scott Field, IL. He served in War World II and earned a Victory Medal and an Army of Occupation Medal. He went on to serve in Korea and earned an Army of Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, United Nation Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star and a Presidential Unit Citation. He then served in Vietnam and earned a Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Bronze Clasp with 3 Loops, Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar, Expert Badge with Sub Machine Gun Bar, Sharpshooter Badge with Tank Weapons Bar. Following an injury he retired and was honorably discharged at Fitzsimons General Hospital at Denver, CO on February 9, 1967.

He married Colleen Lunsford on June 7, 1967 at Nebraska City, NE. They were later divorced.

Allen was raised in Lebanon, MO. Following his military retirement he lived in Denver and flipped houses. He then moved back to Nebraska and worked in residential construction. He retired and lived in Rulo until 2016 when he moved to Kimberling City to be near his niece. He was a member of the Denver Elks Lodge, DAV, Vietnam Veterans of America, VFW and the American Legion.

Allen is survived by his brother, Lee of Lompoc, CA, sister, Ruth Meisenheimer of St. Louis, MO and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Rulo Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
