Phyllis Mae Cobb

Phyllis Mae Cobb 97, passed away on Monday morning July 24 in Holton, Kansas. She was born August 24, 1919, in Wheatland, Wyoming, the daughter of Claude and Irene Norris.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lincoln Cobb, her sisters Margery, Ova, Leta, and by her brothers Leo and Larry.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Lee Cobb and wife Kathleen, of Holton, Kansas, her grandson David Albert Cobb and wife Marce, Rose Hill, Kansas, and great grandsons Lathe and Teagan Cobb also of Rose Hill, her granddaughter Elizabeth Irene Cobb of Holton, Kansas and great grandson Devin Haney of Kansas City, Missouri, step granddaughter, Bonnie Finger Barnett of Holton, Kansas, step granddaughter, Suzie Finger, step great granddaughter, Katie Chepalis, of North Bend, Washington, and step grandson Kenny Finger and wife Peggy, of Leesburg, Virginia, and step great grandsons Justin and Joshua Finger, also of Leesburg, Virginia. Phyllis is also survived by Rebecca Ditmore and Melody Sullivan, of Santa Barbara, California, whom she loved like daughters, and by close friends Mary Woelfel and Melba Wagner of Topeka.

Phyllis put Albert and Ronald through Westmont College, folding laundry at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, and later working as high school secretary at Los Prietos Juvenile Delinquent Boys Camp, Paradise Camp, California, where Albert worked as Senior Counselor for 28 years.

A Memorial Service will be held at Topeka Bible Church. Her final memorial service will be held in the Wheatland, Wyoming, First Christian Church after which her ashes will be interred next to her beloved husband, Albert, in the Wheatland Cemetery.
