Verda Louise Emma Kroemer, 92 of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Premier Estates in Pawnee City, Nebraska.  She was born on February 15, 1925 in Pawnee County to Herman and Clara (Siske) Waterman.  She was the youngest of 6 children, she was baptized at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Elk Creek, Nebraska by Reverend Heinicke.  She was confirmed on April 16, 1938 at Lundell, Kansas.  Her Bible verse was Luke 11, verse 28.

When she was 2 years old she moved with her parents to Atwood, Kansas in January 1927.  Verda attended 8 years of school at Fairview in Rawlins county.  Verda did house work and helped with the farming when brothers Gerhardt and Martin left for the service during WW2.

On April 8, 1945 Verda was united in marriage to Leonard Kroemer at Ludell, Kansas by Pastor Paul Strege.  They moved to De Soto, Kansa to work at the Sunflower Ordiance plant, then moved to Seneca, Kansas to start a family farming operation where they spent many years.  In 1971 they moved to Pawnee City, Nebraska to retire.  Verda worked at the Sewing Factory and Care Center in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  Verda spent many hours gardening, maintaining her flowers and yard work.  She was a life time member of VFW Auxiliary, the State Line Club and AARP.

Verde was the mother of three children, Larry, Sharon and Dennis and grandmother to David, Donna and Stephanie.

Verda was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, parents Herman and Clara Waterman, brothers Albert and wife Lucille, brother Gerhardt and wife Mildred, brother Martin and wife Donna, brother Marvin and wife Lila, sister, Lena and husband Cecil, one nephew David, her parents in law, Carl and Emilee Kroemer.

She leaves to morn here children, Larry and wife Elvina, Sharon and husband Randy, Dennis, three grandchildren, David, Donna and Stephanie, 2 step grandchildren , eight great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.

Services 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Officiating Reverend Tim Llewellyn. Visitation on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Interment at Frieden’s Cemetery, Bern, Kansas.  Memorials to Zion Lutheran Church and/or American Cancer Society.  On line condolence may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com
