Bobby Joe Frealy

Bobby Joe Frealy was born the son of Eugene Stanley Frealy and Maggie Faye (Tyner) Frealy on July 5, 1924, in Camden, Arkansas, and departed this life on December 24, 2017 at the age of 93.

He was united in marriage on June 22, 1946 to Lenora Cotham, who preceded him in death on February 2, 2002.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Lou Area and son-in-law Jack Area, Topeka, KS, granddaughter, Kristina Rottler (Nathan), Topeka, grandson, Robert W. Area, Colorado, ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Maggie Frealy; five brothers, Eugene, Austin, David, Bill and Jackie Frealy; and four sisters, Mary Lou Tourigny, Faye Frealy, Betty Scharff and Alice Frealy.

Bob joined the Navy in January of 1942, where he served with the South Pacific Fleet on the U.S.S. Portland during World War II.  He was a life member of the Holton V.F.W. and American Legion, a former president of the Vet's Club, and was a Bingo caller for many years.

After the war, most of his life he worked in the timber and sawmill business.  He enjoyed life, loved his family and appreciated all of his friends, especially his card playing buddies.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 28th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton.  Burial with military honors will follow in the Holton Cemetery.  Bob will lie in state at the funeral home where family and friends will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.  Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
