Laura Jean ( Pe-At-Sah-Quah) Negonsott Pahmahmie, 53, of Horton died early Monday morning, December 25, 2017 at the Horton Community Hospital.

She was born July 31, 1964 in Holton, KS the daughter of Emery and Patricia Hayes Negonsott. She attended school in Powhattan, KS at the Kickapoo Nation School. Laura married Johnny Pahmahmie June 24, 1988 in Horton, KS. He preceded her in death July 24, 2007.

Laura worked at Tri County Manor in Horton from 2005 until 2012 when health issues required her to retire.

She is survived by Michael Shopteese of the home, sons; Skyler and wife Hannah Pahmahmie of Horton, KS, Thomas Pahmahmie of Horton, KS, step-son, Michael Fisher of Pottawatomie Reservation, brothers; Anthony and wife Callie Negonsott of Atchison, KS, John and wife Sarah Negonsott of Atchison, KS, Jeffery and wife Arlene Negonsott of Horton, KS, and Shane Negonsott of Pottawatomie Reservation, sisters; Violet and husband Thomas Reese of Rushville, MO, Delores Gormley of Atchison, KS, Rebekah and husband Robbie Curtis of Farley, MO, and Jennifer and husband Mike Collins of Effingham, KS, a grandson; Alexander Pahmahmie, step grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son; Matthew Pahmahmie April 20, 2012.

Funeral Services are planned for 10 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary. Pastor Tom Stone will officiate. Interment will follow at the Negonsott Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton. Memorials are suggested in her name and may be sent to the Mortuary, 909 Central, Horton, KS 66439.
