Ruth Coffey, 81, Atchison, Kansas, died Thursday, December 28, 2017, at her residence.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Julie Lindsay officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, December 30, from noon until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Ruth was born March, 8, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Edward and Dollie Dee (Boling) Madison.

She and Marvin “Bud” Coffey were united in marriage on August 27, 1979, in Atchison, Kansas.

Ruth worked alongside her husband for 38 years at Atchison Auto Parts, where she handled bookkeeping.

She enjoyed spending time at their cabin at Lake of the Ozarks and fishing.

Survivors include her husband Bud, two sons, Willard W. (Chris) Smith, Pittsfield, MA, Kenneth L. (Earline Southard) Smith, Atchison, KS, a daughter, Dee A. (Steve) Mansker, Tonganoxie, KS, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Stephen Mansker, three brothers, Melvin Lamb, Edwin Madison, Mark Madison, and five sisters, Ada Lamb, Leona Bloomster, Lorene Wiggin, Vivian Ham, and Bonnie Lindsay.
