Elda Elene Livengood, 94, of Sabetha, KS passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Apostolic Christian Home.

She was born on a farm north of Sabetha on June 28, 1923 to Forrest and Katie (Mishler) Payne. She attended country grade schools Rock Hill and Rock Creek. In 1940 she graduated from Sabetha High School.

On January 7, 1944 Elda married Leonard Langdon Livengood. She was a homemaker who loved her family and cooking for them. She was a member of the Morrill Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Katie (Mishler) Payne; her husband of 73 years, Langdon Livengood; and a twin sister, Nelda Halbert.

She is survived by her three children: Charles “Chuck” (Judy) Livengood of Port St. Joe, FL, Shirley Bozone of Wamego, KS, and Lee (Audra) Livengood of Sabetha, KS; grandchildren, Shannon (Thad) Schneider, Brandon Bozone, Chris (Missy) Livengood, Julie (Jon) Groves, Kody (Alisha) Livengood, Abby (Will) Smith, Dylan (Christina) Livengood, and Lauren Livengood; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be made at the Morrill Cemetery.
