Joetta Martinson Wagoner, 53, of Fairview, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

Joetta was born in Hiawatha, May 23, 1964, one of four children to the late Willard “Bill” and Eleanor Mae Camblin Martinson and had lived in the Hiawatha/Fairview area all of her life.  She grew up on a farm west of Hiawatha, attended Hiawatha schools where she later graduated from Hiawatha High School.  Joetta assisted in the care for her elderly father until his death.  She also was a caregiver for several other families in the area for the elderly.  She in recent years bought a home in Fairview where she worked as a cashier for All Star Truck Stop in Sabetha.

Joetta, when she was growing up, attended Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Fairview; was an active member of Abate District #11, of Hiawatha.  She enjoyed the outdoors, Harley Davidson, and the old barns on the family farm.

She married Alvin Wagoner.  To this union a son Arthur was born.  Alvin died in 2013.

Survivors include her son Arthur Wagoner of Fairview; two brothers:  Martin Martinson of Wetmore, Kevin Martinson of Hiawatha; nephew Joshua Martinson; nieces:  Heather, Tiffany, Brianna, Carissa; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joetta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alvin; and a brother Billy ‘Beefy” Martinson in 2012.

Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, January13, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha.  Burial will follow at Hiawatha Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday, where the family will meet from 6 until 8 that evening.
