Lewis Rogers, 69 of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away suddenly January 13, 2018 in Pawnee City, Nebraska.  He was born on January 6, 1949 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Donald Lewis Rogers and Luella (Kroemer) Rogers.

He grew up in Pawnee City, Nebraska and attended Gravel Hill School and then graduated from Pawnee High School in 1967.  Lewis graduated from UNL with a degree in Ag Education in 1971.  He then taught for 2 years in Omaha North, Benson and Northwest.  He worked one summer at Omaha Public Schools Farms.  He and 2 Ag teachers from Oklahoma that he kept in touch with over the years. Lewis married Linda Martin on December 27, 1972 and they moved back to the farm in Pawnee City in 1973 to present.

Lewis enjoyed participating in Jaycees softball, Pawnee Golf Club and Pawnee County fair board.  He enjoyed working on projects, that included building garages, shops, roofing, but he did not really like pouring concrete.  He enjoyed working on these projects with Denton Stitt, Bob Miller, Terry Borcher and others.

Lewis really loved his grandkids and always making sure they had a hat and coat on.

Lewis enjoyed vacation time in the summer, he always had it all planned out.  he covered a a lot of ground. he always liked to get 600 miles in a day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald & Luella Rogers and son Chet Lewis.

He survived by Linda his wife of 45 years, daughter Katherine (Jarred) Adkins, son Nick (Brittany) Rogers, grandson, Ryan Howell & Reid Lewis, brothers, Roy Rogers, Bruce Rogers, sister Mary Jane Rogers, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at the Presbyterian Church/Christian Church, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Reverend Duane Westing.  Visitation on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Interment at the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Memorials to family choice.  On line condolence may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com
