Raymond Bosch, Jr., 45, of Effingham, KS died Sunday, Jan. 28th, 2018 from injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident near 22nd & Main St., Atchison, KS.

Memorial Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, February 9th, 2018 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Cochran officiating. The body has been cremated according to his wishes. Private Family burial of cremated remains will be at a later date. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday February 8, 2018 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Raymond was born on May 5th, 1972 in Atchison, KS the son of Raymond and Elizabeth “Sis” (Goodpaster) Bosch, Sr. He graduated from Dekalb High School in 1990 and concurrently earned a Certification in Auto Mechanics from Hillyards Vo-Tech, Saint Joseph, MO. Raymond grew up in Rushville, MO and vicinity and was known by his family, friends and community for his incredible knowledge of auto mechanics. Just after his high school years, his mother, he and his close friends constructed what would later become a place where he would spend considerable time during his 20’s and 30’s maintaining and repairing automobiles and spending time with his family and friends, Raymond’s garage. Raymond worked in the steel industry for over 22 years where he completed his time as a 2nd shift Melting Supervisor for Bradken (formerly Atchison Casting) in July 2016. Raymond joined Henke Manufacturing, Leavenworth, KS during October 2016, where he remained a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor, until his death. Between employment, Raymond brought his wife’s childhood dream to reality when he assisted with the construction, electrical and finishing of his family’s new home, on the farm, in rural Effingham, KS. It was several years ago that Raymond was introduced to Dirt Track Racing when his brother-in-law allowed him his first drive in the “Green Weenie”. From that moment, dirt tracking racing became his passion. He purchased his son and himself race cars, and from there, he never looked back. In his racing career, Raymond earned a first-place finish and several top placements. He loved his racing family. Through it all, Raymond was known for his quiet calmness, compassion and determination to finish the job. He was a family man. He loved his three children more than anything and was proud of their accomplishments no matter how big or small. He enjoyed spending time with them, riding 4-wheelers, shooting guns, working on cars and watching all their athletic events and dancing routines. He was the steady in his family and had an incredible ability to weather any storm.

He was married to Leslie Bromley on July 8, 2015. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Brennen Bosch, of the home, a daughter, Malorie Bosch, of the home, and step-daughter Katie Beien, of the home, his mother, Elizabeth “Sis” Barwald, Rushville, MO, his step-father, Gaylord “Leon” Barwald, Rushville, MO, his father Raymond Bosch, Sr., Weston, MO and half-sister, Raylene Bosch, Weston, MO.
