Marvin Eugene Seager, Sr., 82, Atchison, KS, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka, KS.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, February 9, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Fr. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as Celebrant.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at6:00 PM, Thursday, February 8, 2018 with visitation following to 8:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Food for the Poor and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer- Stanton Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Marvin was born February 26, 1935 in Atchison, KS, the son of Cyril and Edith (Gerardy) Seager.  He graduated from Atchison High School in 1952 and served in the Army Reserves for six years.  Marvin was a letter carrier for United States Postal Service for twenty-four and half years.  He was a member of St. Benedict Parish, the Knights of Columbus, having served as PTO President on the Sacred Heart Church council during the consolidating of schools, the Letter Carriers Union, serving as the union secretary and shop steward for a number of years.  Marvin enjoyed woodworking, having built his own home, furniture, toys.  He also enjoyed yard work, traveling with family, serving as the Flyswatter Camping Club President. 

Marvin married Edonna “Jane” Grand Pre on January 12, 1957, at Sacred Heart Church, Atchison, KS, she survives of the home.  Additional survivors include three daughters; Marla (Luke) Jesnowski, Atchison, KS, Donna (Mike) Reno, Topeka, KS, Laura (Mike) Falk, Atchison, KS, three sons; Marvin “Gene” (Beckie) Seager, Atchison, KS, Brian (Joanne White) Seager, Atchison, KS, Terrance (Sheila) Seager, Fall City, NE, two brothers; Kenneth Seager, Wamego, KS, Duane (Sheila) Seager, Cameron, MO, a sister; Marilyn (Harold) Agnew, Lawrence, KS, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, two sister in laws, Thelma Seager and Marilyn Grand Pre, of Atchison, KS and a brother in law Arland (Sandy) Grand Pre, Cummings, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son; Marty Seager, two brothers; Harold and Donald Seager, Sister in law, Debra Grand Pre.
