Toeti M. Deuninck, 77, of Seneca, died on Monday, February 6, 2017 at a Life Care Center of Seneca.

Toeti was born on February 13, 1940 to Marcus and Soemirah Rahajoeningish Sastrodibroto Salmon in Jakarta, Indonesia. As a young girl Toeti and her mother, Some, were imprisoned in a Japanese internment camp during the war. Times were tough for them, as food was scares; but they survived. Toeti attended school in Indonesia, till the 1950 when they moved to the Netherlands, where they had family. The family later moved to the United States. She lived in Topeka for 10 years before moving to Phoenix. In 1990, Toeti moved back to Topeka and lived there until she moved to Seneca in 2009.

In 1960, she married Adrian Deuninck in Topeka, they later divorced. To this union two children were born, a son, Andy and a daughter, Astrid.

Toeti was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Brittney Dueninck in 2000.

Survivors are children, Andy M. Deuninck of Springfield, Missouri and Astrid (Warren Dupont) Deuninck of Seneca; and six grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorials will be designated at a later date, according to the wishes of the family.
