Lester E. Shupe, 79, of Circleville, KS passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Onaga Community Hospital. He was born August 22, 1938 in Topeka, KS the son of Oscar Curtis and Lela Frances (Myers) Shupe.

Lester graduated from Circleville High School in 1957. He worked for over 40 years for Strader Drilling Company as a pump installer and repairman. Lester was a member of the Circleville Christian Church.

Lester married Shirley A. Snyder on August 30, 1958 in Circleville; they were united in marriage for 59 years.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of the home; his children, Cindy A. Shupe of Topeka, KS, Kevin E. Shupe (Tamzen Steege) of Alma, KS and Todd E. Shupe of Douglas, MI; a brother, Melvin Shupe of Circleville, KS; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie Strawn, Megan Strawn (Billie Royer), Justin Strawn (Kristina), James Lopez (Kendra), Leslie Shupe (Mike Stover) and Tye Shupe (Chelsea) and 8 great-grandchildren, Nicole, Cooper, Landen, Zandler, Violet, Jaela, Kyle and Kaeden.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Marvin Shupe in 1935 and Claude Shupe in 2009.

Cremation has taken place, per Lester’s wishes. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. A register book is available at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
