Thomas Heirs
Dishon- Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton
Rogers, AR

Thomas C. Hiers, 79, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Mercy Hospital VWA in Rogers, Arkansas.

He was born on August 10, 1938 in Tampa, Florida the son of Ancil and Martha Thomas Hiers.

Thomas served his country for four years as a flight mechanic in the United States Air Force. After completion of his duty, he met the love of his life, Barbara Larson, a native of Bendena Kansas, and the two wed on February 5, 1962, in Denver, CO. The couple soon settled in California where Thomas held a management position in the system and programming department at Certified Grocers until his retirement.

He believed in living life to the fullest and demonstrated this zeal through extensive travel across the United States in their motorhome, boating, motorcycling and trap shooting. Hobbies were not just spare time activities; they were purposed. Dedicated hours spent keeping up with and expanding his knowledge of the latest technology to handcrafting tools to accomplish a task also speak to this zeal and the idea that we can continue to learn and grow at any season of life.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Larson Hiers of the home; one sister, Danice Day of Denver, North Carolina as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary with the Reverend Shane Spangler officiating. Burial will be in Horton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. A special message may be sent to the family at
