Bettye Gaye Wagner Bosse, 86, of Sabetha, KS passed away early Saturday morning, March 10, 2018, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka, KS.  She was born June 13, 1931 in Morrill, KS.

Bettye went to school at Morrill, KS until the 5th grade when her mother, Zereda Wagner, got the job as Agent of the telephone co at White Cloud, KS.  She went to school in White Cloud through her freshman year.  Her sophomore year she returned to Morrill High School.  During her junior and senior year, her mother worked at the telephone co. at Hiawatha, KS and  Bettye graduated from Hiawatha High School with the Class of 1949.

She worked at Duckwalls while going to school and Byer Clothing Store a year after graduation.  She met and married Dale Bosse of Wheaton, KS.  They were married May 21, 1950.  Later the family moved to a farm northwest of Sabetha.  They then moved to a farm south of Hamlin, KS.  Dale and Bettye worked at the Hamlin Elevator for 20 years.  Dale was Mayor of Hamlin and Bettye was the treasurer.  She was also the treasurer of the Hamlin Cemetery for 17 years.

Bettye was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Sabetha and a member of the LWML.  She volunteered at the Pre-School.  In her spare time, Bettye loved to draw and write poems.

She is survived by her husband, Dale, of the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, KS, their four children; Leonard Bosse and his wife, Brenda of Westcliffe, Colorado, Dan Bosse and his wife, Cindy of Spring Hill, Kansas, Doyle Bosse and his wife, Melissa of Marianna, Florida, and Brenda Rodvelt and her husband Douglas of Horton, Kansas, 17 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.

Bettye was preceded in death by her mother, Zereda.

Funeral Services are planned for 10 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the First Lutheran Church in Sabetha, KS.  Pastor Michael Dunaway and Pastor Sean Kilgo will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Morrill Cemetery.

Friends may call the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home after 9 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. that evening.
