Connie L. Beam, 84, Independence, MO, passed away March 15th, 2018.  

Connie was born July 17th, 1933 in Humboldt, KS to Ralph and Lillian Baxter.

She married Harold L. Beam on April 12th, 1951 in Topeka, KS.  Together they had 3 children and moved to Independence in December 1957.  They were married for 64 years.  

Connie worked as a clerk and Department manager at The Jones Store from 1964 to 1996. She continued her friendships with her long-time coworkers till the end.  She valued them all.  Connie loved to work on the family genealogy and was very successful at providing many other families with their family history.  She was very successful at digging up facts.  She was also an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of Union Veterans.

Connie and Harold traveled the country together and spent many winters in Florida.  Connie kept herself busy after retirement with genealogy, arts and crafts, and her love of sewing.  She was a wonderful seamstress.  She was preceded in death by her husband.  

Connie is survived by her three children, Jeannine, Gary (Nan) and Danny; five grandchildren, John (Kelsey) Farrell, Michael (Michaela) Farrell, Shannon (Brad) Bush, Joseph Farrell (Tanya), Stacy Beam (David); 13 great-grandchildren; Becca, Johnna, John Michael, Rita, Joey, Tanner, Mackenzie, James, Kameryn, Eric, Ryann, Avery, Keegan; 5 great-great grandchildren; Roselynn, Lily, Lizabeth, Ryder, Kyle.  

Memorial Service will be at 4pm-6pm on Friday April 6th, at Park Lawn Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or organization.
