Carl Mauersberger

Carl F. Mauersberger, age 85, of Wetmore, KS passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Sabetha Community Hospital in Sabetha, KS. He was born January 14, 1933 in Elgin, OK the son of Emil and Addie (Shumaker) Mauersberger. He attended Shumaker Country Grade School in Wetmore and graduated from Wetmore High School in 1950.

Carl worked on the family farm all of his life. He was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, serving from 1953-1955. Carl was a member of the Local #307 Rubber Workers Union and worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for over 40 years, retiring in 1997.

 On April 29, 1972 Carl was united in marriage to Carol L. Robinson in Topeka, KS at the First Baptist Church. They shared over forty five years of marriage. She survives of the home. Other survivors include four children, Mark Mauersberger of Wetmore, KS, Carla Barnett (Brett) of Admire, KS, David Mauersberger (Marsha), Emporia, KS and Judy Lee Bradley (Scott) of Holton, KS; and 5 grandchildren, Emma, Trevor, Tinsley, Bryson and Kolton.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, James A. Mauersberger, his brother, Emil “Bob” Mauersberger and his sister, Hilda Kranz.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Wetmore Cemetery.
