Martin Shumaker, 77, of Netawaka, KS passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka; one day short of his 78th birthday. He was born June 2, 1940 in Sabetha, KS, the son of Walter and Martha (Martin) Shumaker.

Martin graduated from Wetmore High School in 1958. He was a lifelong member of the Brown and Jackson counties. Martin worked for Goodyear Tire Company for 37 years; retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Wetmore United Methodist Church, Goodyear Union Local #307, Wetmore FFA and NRA.

He married Marilyn Hoffman on September 19, 1959 in Centralia, KS; celebrating 58 years of marriage. Marilyn survives of the home. Other survivors include 3 sons, Brad Shumaker (Tracey), Todd Shumaker (Sandy) and Chris Shumaker (Elaine) all of Netawaka, KS; a sister, Ruth Erlenmaier of Wetmore, KS; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

 Martin was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Wetmore United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Wetmore Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
