Marie Glace Anderson, 92, of Seneca, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Life Care Center of Seneca.

Marie Glace Anderson, Seneca, Kansas was born August 29, 1925 in Clay Center Kansas to Fred and Aleda (Heinen) Oetinger. She attended country grade school and graduated from Clay Center High School in 1943. Following graduation Marie taught school for two years

On June 1, 1944 Marie married to Warren Roy Glace at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in their rural Kansas community.

The couple lived on a farm south of Broughton, KS until 1959 when they moved to a farm east of Oneida. Together Marie and Warren had four children and were married 23 years before Warren died in a tractor accident on January 6, 1967.

Throughout her life Marie worked tirelessly on the farm. From milking cows to canning the vegetables from her large gardens. Two years prior to Warren’s death the couple purchased and ran Sabetha Seed House. A seed packaging and distribution company.

After selling the Seed House, Marie worked as the book keeper at the Oneida Grain Elevator for 23 years, retiring in 1990.

As a woman of faith, Marie grew up in the Church. She attended the Bern United Methodist Church and was a tireless supporter of the Oneida United Methodist Church for the past 30 years.  After retiring she was able to participate in some of her favorite organizations, including United Methodist Women and the County Homemakers FCE.

On April 12, 1969 Marie married Russell N. Anderson of Oneida. Russell became father and grandfather to Marie’s family:  Warrene Glace and Jim Stadler, Silver Lake, KS; Bill and Janie (Hightower) Glace, Sabetha, Kansas; Ardis Glace and Jay Nichols, Palm Springs, California and Bob and Jan (Montgomery) Glace of Waterloo, Iowa.

Marie leaves 12 grandchildren, 25 (almost 26) great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral service will be at 10 AM Friday, June 8th at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Family will meet with friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service. The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas.

Memorial contributions will be directed to One Mission Society’s (OMS) Homes for Haiti, and the Oneida United Methodist Youth Fund.
