Dorothy Olberding

Dorothy M. Olberding, 94, of Seneca, died August 29, 2018 at Life Care Center in Seneca, with family at her side.

She was born June 29, 1924 in Seneca, the daughter of Tony and Rose Vondenkamp Henry. She graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul High School in 1942

She married Leonard H. Olberding on August 8, 1945.

She was a member of Sts. Peter A& Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. She belonged to the Sts. Peter and Paul Church Prayer and Perpetual Adoration Group. She worked 22 years with the school lunch program; quilted one day a week for 30 years; was a volunteer helper for funeral dinners for 17 years; worked at the Mission Room for 20 years and volunteered with the Altar Society playing Bingo at the local nursing homes.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Leonard, on December 27, 1992; her parents; and her sister, Leta.

Surviving are her three sons, Larry of Silver Lake, Jody (Kittie) of Topeka, Randy (Janet) of Lenexa; two daughters, Kathy (Mike) Dodder of Oberlin and Patty (Ken) Hill of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; four brothers, Linus Henry of Weatherford, Texas, Gene Henry of Independence, Missouri, Paul Henry of Seneca, Kansas, Bill Henry of Wylie, Texas; one sister, Joan Klier of Ocala, Florida; eleven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM, Saturday, September 1st at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM on Friday, August 31st at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorials can be given in Dorothy’s memory to Sts. Peter & Paul School and the Altar Society and sent in care of the family.
