Raymond Tannahill

Raymond Wayne Tannahill, 70, of Holton, KS, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born October 13, 1947 in Holton, KS, the son of Jack Randall and Agnes Norene (Sawyer) Tannahill.

Raymond graduated from Soldier High School in 1965. He owned and operated Tannahill Station in Soldier for a few years. He worked for Jackson County Road and Bridge; retiring in 2013, after 26 years. Raymond was also a farmer and stockman.

Raymond was a Holton Wildcat Fan, enjoying the many sporting activities his grandchildren were involved in. He was also an avid deer hunter—“If it walked, it dropped”.

He married Phyllis Cattrell, they later divorced.

Survivors include his fiancé, Rebecca Hernandez of the home; 2 sons, Kelly Tannahill of Holton, KS and Terry Tannahill (Donna) of Nebraska; 2 sisters, Ruth Ann Klahr (Corky) of Netawaka, KS and Janice Uhl of Holton, KS; 2 brothers, Jackie D. Tannahill (Jolene) of Soldier, KS and Ronald Tannahill (Tina) of Abilene, KS and 5 grandchildren, Kyler, Konnor, Karoline, Koy and Kennedy Tannahill.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2018 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Soldier Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Memorials may be given to the Soldier Boosters 4-H c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
