Ruth Ronnebaum

Ruth Ann Heinen Ronnebaum, 77, of Seneca, went to be with Our Lord on a beautiful Sunday morning, September 23, 2018 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 30, 1941 on a farm southeast of Seneca to Joseph A. and Martha Huerter Heinen. She attended and graduated from Kelly High School in Kelly, Kansas. After graduating from high school, she worked briefly in Topeka, Kansas at Security Benefit Life.

On September 4, 1961, she married Wilfred Ronnebaum at St. Bede’s Catholic Church in Kelly. They recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. They resided in Kansas City, Missouri for five years before returning to their home in Seneca, where they spent many years farming, raising livestock and gathering eggs together. Ruth was also a part-time bus driver for several years and enjoyed volunteering at the Sts. Peter and Paul Mission Center.

Ruth had many interests in her life which included, cards, Bingo, puzzles, Rosary making and embroidery. Ruth happiest times were spent with her family playing cards and visiting with family.

She is survived by her husband, Wilfred of the home; two sons, Lynn Ronnebaum of Lenexa, Kansas and Brian (Basette) Ronnebaum of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters Shirley (Dwayne) Miller of St. George, Kansas and Janet (David) Vance of Wamego, Kansas; a brother, John of Springhill; three sisters, Alice (Don) Wietharn of Topeka, Dolores (Lyle) Holthaus of Leawood, Helen (Gary) Kramer of Topeka; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. Heinen on June 2, 1952 and Martha on December 5, 2008; a brother, Joseph on February 16, 1950; and a daughter, Janelle Ronnebaum on September 20, 1966.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM Friday, September 28, 2017 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials can be given in Ruth’s memory to Sts. Peter and Paul School, and sent in care of the family.
