Ronald G. Turpin, 78, Atchison, Kansas died Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Atchison Hospital.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, October 2nd from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ronald Gene Turpin was born on October 22, 1939 in Elwood, Kansas, the son of Balious and Irene (Chew) Turpin. He graduated from Atchison High School.

He and Marcia Harrison were united in marriage on November 23, 1963 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Atchison. Marcia preceded him in death on November 17, 2016.

Ron was employed with Capital Electric for 25 years working as a union carpenter.

He served his country in the United States Air Force from February 11, 1957 until his honorable discharge on April 22, 1960.

He was member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Atchison, V. F. W. Post #1175, Atchison Elks Lodge and numerous bowling leagues.

He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Deckard, Oviedo, FL, Denise (John) Pace, Atchison, KS, Shanise (Michael) Leigh, Chehalis, WA, three brothers, Dennis and Don Turpin, both of Atchison, KS, Bill Turpin, Kansas City, KS, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marcia, a brother Jerry Turpin and three sisters, Darlene Cowan, Betty Fugina and Mary Jo Turpin.
