Mark Steven Piper, 57, of Huron, KS was killed on Sunday, Sept. 30th, 2018 in a work related accident in West Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, Oct. 6th at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. The body will be cremated following the visitation and no memorial services will be held. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kidney Foundation and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Mark was born on Nov. 13, 1960 in Atchison, KS the son of Richard and Nancy (Pease) Piper. He graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1979. Mark worked as a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local Union # 101. He enjoyed old cars and his grandchildren.

He was married to Kathy Fitkin on Dec. 15, 1981. Kathy survives of the home in Huron, KS. Additional survivors include three sons, Steven (Stephanie) Piper, Atchison, KS, Luke (Jessica) Piper, Bolckow, MO, and A.J. Piper, Huron, KS, two brothers, Rick Piper, Tunis, MO, and Bill (Barb) Piper, Lancaster, KS, two sisters, Donna (David) Lee, Huron, KS and Anna Marie Piper, Holton, KS, and two grandsons, Ethan and Evan Piper, Atchison, KS and a step granddaughter, Emily Birkinsha, Atchison. His parents, a daughter, Sarah Piper and adopted brother, Warren H. “Sonny” Pease, preceded him in death.
