Michael E. Trower, 69, El Dorado, formerly of Atchison, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at his home.

He was born Oct. 21, 1948, at Atchison, the son of Rollo V. and Grace Ray Trower. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1967.

Mike was a correctional officer at the El Dorado Correctional Facility for 12 years and attained the rank of Captain. He had been a Supervisor both at Great Plains Manufacturing for 10 years and also at Rockwell International for 10 years, both at Atchison. He was a member of Carol Baptist Church and the Elks Lodge, both at Atchison.

He married Shirley Kay Bennett, May 18, 1974, at Atchison. 

Survivors include his wife, Kay, of the home; three sons, Tony (Julie) Trower, Topeka, Shawn Trower, El Dorado, and Nicholas (Rachel) Trower, Topeka; three daughters, Angela (Rick) Heuertz, Tecumseh, Rebecca (Scott) Brown, Meriden, and Rachelle Trower, McLouth;  a step-son, Troy Cloves, Atchison; three step-daughters, Michelle Cloves, Leavenworth, Tamara Meis, Atchison, and Traci Potts, CA; three sisters, Nellie Moore, St. Joseph, MO, Linda (Les) Pennington, Atchison, and Martha (Bill) Boles, Dixon, IL; 12 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Clifford, Earl, and Don Trower; and five sisters, Ruby Byers, Gladys Bruns, Margaret McHaly, Sharon Martin, and Freida DeBay.
