Donna Dittemore, 90, Atchison, Kansas, died Monday, November 19, 2018, at Medicalodge’s Atchison

Graveside services will be Friday, November 23, 2018, at 3:00 P.M. at Sunset Memory Gardens, with Fr. Jeremy Heppler, OSB, officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to Benedictine College, the Atchison Library or the ADK Scholarship Fund and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom the final care has been entrusted.  

Donna was born March 11, 1928, to Fred Henry Meng and Marie Weber Meng. A family of German Swiss decent, she had two brothers, Bernard Lee; Fred Lambert both deceased and two sisters, Margaret Ann Revels and Alma Dittemore.

She was married to Theodore Lee Dittemore on August 6, 1950 for 50 years prior to his death in June 2001. During this time, they were able to travel to many places as well as ADK sorority activities.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two of her children William R. Dittemore deceased March 2016 in Janice Lee Dittemore Blankenship, deceased February 2012.

Donna had four grandchildren, Thomas, Timothy, Rebecca, Elizabeth and seven great-grandchildren Olivia, Chloe, Lilly Ann, Gwen, Allison, Ben and Nathan.

Donna was a school teacher 41 years starting in a one room class and teaching third grade from 1946 until 1990 after which she substituted as needed.

The main activity in her life was Alpha Delta Kappa sorority, Beta chapter, a sorority for educators which has members in every state. Donna was a Charter Member. She held offices in local, regional and state. She was also a member of National Educational Association, Retired Teachers of Atchison County, and VFW Auxiliary.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Circle Five Women’s Group.
