Patty Ann McNett, 61, of Severance, KS, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully November 19, 2018 at her home.

Patty was born at Highland, March 30, 1957, one of nine children, born to Charles Eugene and Helen May Simpson Baxter and had made Doniphan County her home most of her life. She grew up in the Sparks/Severance communities where she attended Midway Schools. She worked as a cook at Casey’s General Store in Highland, also at Highland Junior College. Patty worked with Doniphan County Home Health from 2005 until 2012. She currently was working as a cook for Doniphan West Elementary School.

She attended the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of Horton; she enjoyed gardening, playing with the grandchildren, and fishing.

She married Bennie Victor McNett, July 9, 1994 at Severance. They have lived most of their married life at Severance. He survives.

Also surviving are her children: Bradley Day Scott McNett (Bobbi Thomas) of St. Joseph, MO, Jennifer Ann Merrow (Robert) of Manhattan, Tiffany Crystal Fisher (Joshua) of St. Joseph; step-sons: T.J. Jeremy Victor McNett, and Bennie Damon McNett; siblings: Nicky Baxter, Sharon Adkins, Darlene Phillips, Myra Dryden, Debbie Hollars; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Fred Baxter, Carolyn Adkins, and Irene Loyd.

Services are planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland, with Pastor Tom Stone officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Severance.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. until 4 Friday. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
