Forest “Jim” Morgan, 80, Valley Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018.
    He was born April 16, 1938, at Prestonsburg, KY, the son of Bill and Eunice Stanley Morgan. He graduated from Prestonsburg High School in 1954. He served stateside in the US Army for three years.    
    Jim was an over the road truck driver and had worked for several trucking companies. He retired from Hill’s Pet Food in Topeka, after working there for 12 years. He had lived in Topeka from 1957 to 1980, before he moved to Valley Falls in 1980. He was a member of American Legion Post 225 at Ozawkie.
    Jim enjoyed participating in auto racing in Topeka.
    He married Shirleen Nightingale in 1958 at Corning. They divorced.
    Survivors include three daughters, Marla Barnes (Lonny Baker), Meriden, Pamela Lopez (Perry Sublett), Topeka, and Michelle (Larry) Noriega, Carbondale; a brother, Billy Morgan, Prestonburg, KY; a sister, Vivian Childers, Concord NC; and four grandchildren, Jason, Amanda and Nicholas Lopez and Nick Noriega; and eight great-grandchildren. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren fondly called him “Bakka”.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Ross Morgan, and a sister, Blanche Vaught.
    The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday.
