Beverly Ann Thompson Downing 66, of Cummings, KS, passed away Friday December 14, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday,   December 20,  2018 at Becker Dyer Stanton Funeral Home with Reverend Carter officiating.  Family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday December 19, 2018 at the funeral home.  Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date.  Memorials are to help defray funeral cost and may be sent in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Beverly was born May 22, 1952 in Hutchison KS, the daughter of John and Betty Grisby Dale, (both preceded in death).  In 1969, Beverly moved to Atchison Kansas where Roland and Veryl Tyler, (both preceded in death), welcomed her into their home heart and family.  She worked at the Atchison Senior Village for 20 plus years, during that time she worked as a CNA, Restorative aid as well as assisting with patient activities.  Beverly’s compassion and loving heart was felt by everyone whom she came in contact with.

Beverly loved her community and was very activity, as a member of Second Christian Church where she faithfully served as an usher.  She was a member of the Sunday Supper Club as well as a foster parent, where among the many ways she was able to give back.  Beverly loved to help others as well as helping out whenever and wherever there was a need.  Beverly was also active for many years with the bowling league where she was teammate and friend, but most of all, Beverly loved her family and spending time with those she loved.  During the summers, she enjoyed having everyone with her camping.

Beverly married Herbert Thompson may 15, 1971, he preceded her in death.  Beverly married Dwight Downing May 12, 2006, he still survives.  Survivors include three daughters Ronald Vessar and Vernika Thompson of Cummings, KS, George and Dawn Goolsby of Kansas City MO, Tihesha Wallace of Conroe, TX, two sons Jared Thompson and Eryn Hassler of Manhattan, KS, and Calvin Thompson, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  Siblings include John and Mayday Dale Atchison, KS, Donna Kay Williams Wichita, KS, Roland and Patricia Tyler Jr., Atchison, KS, Cheryl and Adam Shaw Kansas City, MO, Marjorie Boldridge of Atchison KS, Sandra Dowdy of Kansas City, MO, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother's Thomas Lee Dale, Jimmy Tyler, and a sister Betty Jane Dale.
