Donald Anthony Smith (“Smitty”) 85 of Winchester & Valley Falls formerly of Atchison departed this on world on December 18, 2018 at F.W. Huston Senior Center, Winchester.

A Memorial Catholic Mass will be held on Saturday December 22nd, 2018 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church Atchison, Kansas at 1pm. Family and Friends will be received Friday night at the Elks Lodge from 7pm-9pm. In Honor of his wish’s inurnment will be at a later date.

He was born in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Anthony W Smith and Phoebe A Trout on December 16th, 1933. He attended Catholic schools in Atchison, KS. He Married Miriam “Joan” Noble on February 27th, 1953.

He was employed by the Pillsbury Company in Atchison for 36 years. He also had his own Electrical service business for over 25 years. He was a member of St Benedicts and St Joseph Catholic Parishes in Atchison.

He enjoyed life by participating in many outdoor activities Softball, Golf, Boating, Fishing, Hunting, Bowling, Horses, Motorcycles, Camping, and Traveling. He was a lifelong fan of the KC Chiefs, KC Royals, and KU Basketball.  He was also very active in many local organizations, Atchison Optimist Club, Bellevue County Club, Pineview Country Club, Miller’s National Federation, Atchison City Inspectors Licensing Division-Electrical.

Left to cherish his memory are his four children, Nancy Briefs Daniels (Ralph) of Nashua, NH, Norma Wilburn (Hoyt) of Atchison, KS, Tony Smith (Laurie Beffa) of Manhattan, KS, Joy Knowles (Tim)of Tecumseh, KS; and 16 Grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
